Hormone Stimulation
The female hormone treatment usually begins on the 3 rd day of her cycle, i.e. on the 3 rd day of her period. A specified amount of fertility hormone will be injected daily. The hormone treatment can be carried out with different compounds: some compounds (menotropine) include 2 hormones, which are LH (luteinizing hormone) and FSH (folic stimulating hormone). The LH is not always necessary for cycle stimulation. In this case a very pure FSH is available (e.g. follitropine). Pure FSH can be injected under the skin. This you can do on your own or have your partner do it for you if you want to.
After the 8 th day of the cycle we check the egg cell maturation using an ultrasound and blood tests. The dosage of the hormone will be adjusted according to follicle growth.
If the follicle is big enough, ovulation will be triggered with another hormone, human choriongonadotropine (hCG).
Fertilization will then follow by either intercourse or with the help of insemination.

Insemination
Insemination is frequently performed when the sperm are the identified problem. If the number or mobility are limited or deformed, the insemination produces the desired result by shortening the distance to the egg cell. Via a thin tube (catheter) the sperm will be fed directly into the uterus at ovulation. The sperm will be prepared in advance. Mainly healthy and promising sperm will be accumulated and used for the insemination.
The simultaneous stimulation of egg cell maturation is usually wise, especially if, in addition to limited male fertility, the woman's cycle is disrupted or if the sperm quality should be compensated by the availability of additional egg cells.
